Video: Queer politics get non-Rosie daytime mention

On today's show, Ellen will help to put a woefully underreported (and even misreported) story into the national consciousness:

It's okay, Ellen. You don't have to qualify the occasional political statement when it concerns something so non-debatably right. Thanks for eschewing the owl noises and gift giveaways for a few moments in order to use your platform for positive change.

Now DANCE, lady! Whatdya think this is, "Frontline"?

I'm happy that Ellen was able to address, especially since it's been widely ignored.

Ellen has really stepped into the role of gay/civil rights leader. We should all be proud to have her in our community. I know I am.

Beej: I definitely think she has def. stepped it up in the past year, talking about her life with Portia and her role as a gay person more and more. It seems that she needed a few years to get comfortable and to be sure that daytime America would be receptive to her before doing so.
