Ironically, it was 'Truth' that was greeted with silence
The so-called "Day of Truth" went by yesterday with less than a whimper. While last Friday's pro-acceptance, anti-bullying Day of Silence attracted considerable attention, there was barely a mention of Monday's anti-gay endeavor on either mainstream or "pro-family" news sites, and none of the usual social conservative groups issued so much as a press release celebrating the event. In fact, a Google News search doesn't turn up even one "DOT" mention posted after 4/27.
So what gives? Why did those who push gay demonization for a career let it pass by with a bang-less whisper? This isn't a crew that's typically shy about promoting their endeavors and trumping their "successes." Was there just so much fatigue in the buildup to the day that once it arrived, ennui was fully in place? Could it be that the nation's young people mostly turned a blind eye to the divisive, "ex-gay"-promoting day, so there was little for the conservative movement to celebrate? Or did the nation's English teachers band together and let the "Day of Truth" organizers that the definition of "truth" is not, in fact, "one-sided, faith-based, unscientific rationale that we have adopted in order to justify our biases against LGBT people"?
If anyone has any insight, let us know.
Your thoughts
I am sure they will spin the lack of coverage by saying homosexuals control the media.

They were probably up all night, watching cartoons with Don Wildmon, and trying to find drug and homosexual references to report on. I heard they've been desperate to "out" Vanity Smurf, but so far can only accuse him of being "effeminite".
Sounds to me like they overslept, had hangovers, or both.

Ahhh, another of the hallmarks of declining social acceptance--they can't get anyone excited about their intolerance event and no one shows up. Remember, Hutch said he would have more than a thousand show up at Mt Si HS and less than a 10th of that actually showed up out of a population of over 3 million in the 15th largest metropolitan area of the country. Hmmm, that's less than 0.003%. I think I see gay marriage looming on the horizon as an inevitablility. How about you?

They are probably going to blame it on that "damned clock!"

I wonder if kids were allowed to stay home on the Day of "Truth" with an excused absence the way the kids who stayed home on the Day of Silence were.
