Gay-themed publishing's going in the toilet
It's tough to land a book deal. It's even tougher when you write about gay issues, as the industry widely considers the commercial prospects of the topic to be limited (read: The Sex and the City Movie will make more in one theater than many LGBT books will make worldwide).
Though what's a surefire way to get the green light on a book with gay themes? Well controversy, of course. And unfortunately, the sad state of affairs is that a public figure's protestations that "I'm not gay, I have never been gay" are a more likely way for an author to shoot up the Amazon charts than are pro-gay tomes that lay out a reasoned path towards eliminating bias:

"Memoirs From Down On My Knees"?
"Before I Suck You Off.....The Larry Craig Story"?

The "book" will probably be hollowed out inside (or just a dust jacket) to provide the other Larry Craigs of the world with handy subterfuge for sneaking their gay porn into the stall for entertainment as they wait for their next trick.
