In protest, we ask figure skaters to instead make 'Figure 3s'
It's official, folks: The anti-gay ballot measure in California now has a name. The proposed constitutional amendment (or revision?) will be known as Proposition 8:
Propositions get numbers from Secretary of State's office [PolitickerCA]
Clearly, "Proposition -4 Equal Rights, Respect, the Economy, and Just About Every American Value A Decent Society Should Hold Dear" must have been taken.
Although we don't hate the number. After all, since it "just 8," we think there's a good chance it'll be too foolhardy full and hearty to swallow up equality.

Here is what THE GOV said Sunday, (I wish Obama would just say it.)
In an interview Sunday morning on NBC's "Meet the Press," Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called the measure "a waste of time."
"I personally believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman," Schwarzenegger said. "But at the same time I think that my... belief, I don't want to force on anyone else."
OMG... just think if everyone thought that! Look at all the winguts, preachers and ministers who would have to get a real job.

So you oppose any laws defining marriage?
People should just be able to live together and call it whatever they want?

Michael: What? What gives you that idea? We're fighting for the freedom for two grown, non-related adults of any sexual orientation to enter into a legal MARRIAGE. No alternate words, no separate systems. One marriage system for gay and straight couples.
Any situation that does or does not constitute a marriage must be debated on its merits. Gays and lesbians have more than demonstrated their fitness.
