'We're just going to use violence'

by Jeremy Hooper

Some of you might remember a video/audio clip we posted the other day, wherein two young men essentially threatened bodily harm towards gays. Now, in this comment one of them has left on our post, they have more than confirmed their intent:

We're not sure who to contact first -- Chris Crocker, these authorities in this commenter's jurisdiction, or the "pro-family" types who deny the need for hate crimes protections!

Your thoughts

If you can determine where this person, I do think it might be a good idea to try to contact the police in that area. Obviously, a threat of violence has been made against a specific group of people, if not a specific person. I'm not really sure how much power the police would have in non-specific cases such as this, but better safe than sorry.

I would hope they stumble across my YouTube videos. Because what they don't know from the vids is that I'm also well armed. I believe in fighting fire with fire.

Well. It don't get more clear-cut than that.

I'm sure you already have contacted everyone who needs it that you're able.

The sad thing is, they haven't threatened anyone in a specific manner, so it would be impossible to get them off the streets just for these vague threats. We wouldn't be able to do anything until they found a victim and did them harm. I advocate a bit of a gay vigilante preemptive strike if these deranged, religion-soaked psychopaths are ever found (and I'm about 75% kidding, because I do know that we can't have a lawful society if people all took the law into their own hands, but I would cheer if someone did). Also, doesn't it elicit a funny picture of a gay vigilante squad? I can laugh at stereotypes too. Sally Kern would probably read this comment and go into hysterics.

There are way too many people like this around. While gay bashings aren't an everyday occurrence, and you can't be paranoid your whole life, you also don't want to be a helpless victim if you happen to be one of those sad statistics. Be able to defend yourself by any means necessary.

I wonder if this commenter knows he comes across as a coward saying he's only going to go after the effeminate gays. But to be honest, that's probably the only people he thinks he can get away with picking on. He should give himself a good once-over in the mirror and do some thinking.

Make sure you keep the IP address of "Creator" from that post of his on this site. Go to the police, make them get the names and adresses from their ISP using the IP address, and then post that personal info. Then we can destroy their personal and professional (yeah, right!) lives.

Crazy people are rarely shy about their loony beliefs and ideas. Yeah, I would say it's time to call the authorities, this guy has clearly committed "conspiracy to commit a crime" (if that exists in his jurisdiction).

Posted by: Jason D | Aug 8, 2008 6:15:27 AM

This is what you do.

First: copy the comment with the IP address
Second: call local law enforcement and instruct them you want them to take a report
Third: call your local FBI office and tell them you wan them to take a report

Their report should include the comment that shows the IP address. I know for a fact that the FBI has a cyber crimes division. Stress, stress, and stress how serious this is and you want a paper trail.

Now, if it were me, I would trace back to the Internet provider and contact them directly and explain the situation and give them the IP address. Chances are, this is just some punk hiding behind his keyboard but you can't be too certain.

This guy is clearly clueless to the world around him and who comments on G-A-Y. He really needs to get out more and meet new people.

Posted by: Sam | Aug 8, 2008 10:15:02 AM

Sam, do you think any "new people" deserve to meet *him*? :-O

The only new people he needs to meet right now are law enforcement and psychiatric professionals.

"I believe in fighting fire with fire."

Same here, Tony.

Although I've never been physically attacked, I've got a bullet for anyone who wants to unsuccessfully be the first.

Ooh, there's a different Christopher posting replies, I'll be Christopher D from now on.

Anyway, I don't really see the pun in 'don't let them consume you'... did homosexuality become synonymous with cannibalism?

The 'like the Americans' comment made it seem like this whole thing is satirical to be honest. I don't really care if that was their intent, though. If it was, they took it way too far. Or maybe they honestly believe part of being American is being violent towards gays.

I started to listen to the adio thing, but i barely even got through a quarter of it. The way they speak, they sound SO idiotic AND immature. I mean, goodness! What in this technologically advance world made them think to make such an idiotic video! See, if they were in a position where someone insulted there stupid lifestyle like that, I bet they would be upset. And WTF is up with them mentioning some idiot Crocker guy? I don't even know the man! It just amazes me how far homophobia brings people. I'm not wishing anything bad on anyone, but if they keep up those piggish antics, their retarded view of what the world should be like is going to bite them in the butt sooner or later. UGH!!! If they think WE'RE ((both bis and homos, cuz im bi)) I would just hate to see them at the end of the world. Any how... Of ALL the issues going on, with crimes, abortion, wars, and global warming, WHY did they duel on this subject. And ((I can't remember who mentioned this)) they DO NOT know what they are talking about, and they, as sure as Hell is not a good place, know what territory they are treading on. I hope THEY don't get no pussy... Retards.
