Anti-gay side vs. the gays who've [::sighed::]

by Jeremy Hooper

For a story on their side's campaigns to constitutionally ban same-sex marriage in Arizona, Florida, and California, the kids at Focus on the Family are running this headline:

Picture 12-70

And you know what? The headline elicits a butt load of nausea in us. Why? Because how the hell can they even begin to compare the passion of these two sides, when THE ONLY REASON ANY OF US ARE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THIS MATTER IS BECAUSE OF THEIR NON-ACCEPTANCE?!

What we have in this marriage amendment debate is one side that wants to eliminate civil rights because of their religious views, and another who wants to see their civil equality protected. Are both sides passionate? Sure. Just like a schoolyard bully and his targeted kid both have strong opinions about whether or not the latter should have his lunch money stolen! But you can;t compare the two passions. Not fairly. For not all heightened emotional states are born out of the same place. Some are born out of organic concepts like peace, love, and fairness. Some others are born out of learned bias. We'll let you figure out which "culture war" side is working from which place.

If you want to read more than just the headline, then you can find the full FOF piece at the following. As for us? We have already "sighed" too much this week to even listen to these grown adults who should know better try to justify their needless, unprovoked war!

Marriage Amendments Elicit Passion from Both Sides [Citzenlink]

Your thoughts

Wow - sorry I missed that one. But - don't the boys over at Focus want to avoid the passion on that OTHER side? I mean, isn't it kinda against the bible or something? The bible's only supposed to allow ONE-WAY passion, not on BOTH sides...
