Audio: [::Sniff, sniff::] I always cry at anti-weddings

Earlier today we told you how Focus on the Family's Dr. Dobson will be appearing at this weekend's disturbing evangelical event, "The Call." Well now, thanks to the fantastic kids at PFAW's Right Wing Watch, we can hear just how emotional the idea of anti-gay praying and fasting makes Dr. D:

Well, some cry when they see their son or daughter walk down the aisle, and others cry when they fight to stop other people's sons and daughters from doing the same. That's why God made chocolate and vanilla, and why these evangelicals will eat neither for a few days in hopes that their suffering will please the Lord enough to make him roll back civil equality.

Your thoughts

Lest anyone think his emotion was authentic, we should keep in mind one thing. He does this every four years.

Four years ago it was his wife, Shirley, crying while she implored listeners to vote because the future of the country hung in the balance. That was the same year Dobson said that if people did not vote the right way it would be the end of the country and possibly the end of the world.

Every four years they get weepy. It is such an effective tool and both Dobsons know it. But it is anything but authentic.

It is really quite despicable. But his listeners eat it all up. And by throwing in phrases like "I felt the hand of the Lord pushing me to go" he conveys that he has a direct link to God, therefore he must be right.

I hope God would slip and "accidentaly" push him into some real life Gay people, then perhaps he might start to understand that these are human lives he's messing with, not some war betwix good and evil.
