CA: Swanky soiree raises mucho moolah
Last night in the 90210 zip code, monied magnate Ron Burkle through a lavish fundraiser in opposition to the nasty, cruel, un-American initiative that is currently muddying California' selection season, Proposition 8. And according to firsthand reports, the star-laden event (Melissa Etheridge, Mary J. Blige, and more) raised close to four million dollars for the reasoned, principled cause!

Well, we at G-A-Y don't have a Streisand or Blige to offer you. However, we do have a fridge full of organic beer and blintzes, as well as an iTunes playlist with the aforementioned two artists (among many, many others). So if you'll go the this link and donate whatever you can to the fight....
...we'll pop open a bottle and fry you up a fattening crepe-based treat whenever you find yourself on Manhattan's Upper East Side. We won't even make you state whether you're in our neck of the woods because you want to visit the United Nations, or because you wish to do some "Gossip Girl" role playing. Hell, if you give in the thousands, we'll even put on a blonde wig and leggings and play Serena van der Woodsen ourselves!
This cause matters that much to us. Oh and by "this cause," we mean combatting abject tyranny.

Thank you for the link JH, I wondered about those GALA's the ad did not say they were fund raisers...but I am so glad they ARE! Spanish ADS and ads countering the lies of YES will be wonderful to SEE. But we just need more real stories of real families! Ah well, off to work with my fingers crossed for another day...they'll be sore by NOV 4... but clapping on NOV 5 I hope.
