Farrow-branded priest shuns narrow-minded bias
Fresno priest Geoffrey Farrow had not one, but two things to reveal this weekend:
(1) He's gay.
(2) He wants his parishioners to go against the recommendation of California bishops and instead VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 8!
Go read/watch a local news report on Father Farrow's principled declarations:
Action News Exclusive | Priest's Shocking Revelation [ABC 30]
Confessional! But although Farrow's homily reportedly received a standing ovation, his parishioners are said to have had mixed reactions to its content. However, considering the number of times the Catholic church has called gays broken, immoral, or holding an orientation that is an "intrinsic moral evil," you'll have to forgive us if we don't shed too many tears for those upset with this development.
Your thoughts
"We contacted Bishop John Steinbock, the head of the Diocese of Fresno this afternoon. He said he has not talked to Father Geoff Farrow, only has heard rumors about what happened today. He told us Proposition 8 is not a homosexuality issue..."
What a crock. This is only a homosexuality issue. The sole purpose of Prop 8 is to deny lesbian and gay couples the right to marry as now guaranteed by the California constitution.
When they deny reality and start believing their own propaganda, we have every right to call them on their disingenuous statements.

Great comments on PHB. Most saying as I believe that California priests at least are able to speak their minds quite freely. It truly would have been best for him to state his views, and then have told the congregation to listen to their own consciences, but apparently, he had invited the media and cleaned out his office and home and left the parish immediately after his sermon. That is NOT being a shepherd.
Another poster who apparently knows him left this comment.
"My friend Geoff is most certainly NOT history, he just isn't a priest anymore. But you'll be hearing plenty from him. Sometimes God calls people to serve in ways they never anticipated.
In his new role as an activist, he'll be campaigning against Proposition 8 inclding a fundraiser tonight.
Stay Tuned!"
So the story is not finished.
