Poll: Majority of voters voters see through costumed bias

200810310831Some good news on this Halloween: In the latest Field Poll, The frightening, monstrous gay marriage ban known as Proposition 8 is losing by a 49% - 44% margin (with 7% undecided). The Chronicle has more:

Prop. 8 still trails, but margin narrows [SF Chron]

But of course there's no resting on our laurels. Our people could stay home. Undecideds could decide that they enjoy our opposition's lies. The pollsters assigned to this task could've been drunk on pumpkin beer. There are just too many variables for us to get comfortable. And when talking about the civil equality of millions of tax-paying citizens, the stakes are too high for us to play hare to the "no on 8" tortoise.

Keep fighting. Keep giving:

Your thoughts

I'm still concerned about this poll result. 7% undeicded is large margin for such a close race, especially when some of the alleged support could be lies to the pollsters because the folks don't want to look bad. *sigh* Difficult not to be cynical in this since I can't even participate other than making a donation. Can't wait for the election to be over...
