Wait, 'Yes on 8' -- which side did you say is the hostile one?

by Jeremy Hooper

One of our posted YouTube videos, a direct response to an ad created by the "protect marriage" crowd, was recently bombarded with negative ratings, going from 4.5 stars to 2.5 stars in just a couple of days. Looking at the stats to the video, it's no surprise why this happened:

Apparently our video was linked in some fashion on the official Prop 8 site (although we can't find how), and that link clearly brought with it an onslaught of anti-gay opinion. Which is fine. We can deal with a lowered YouTube star rating. One thing we can't deal with, however, are comments like one that was left on the video during the exact same time period that the ratings onslaught took place:

Now, we have no way of knowing for sure that this YouTuber (who lists his location as the Ukraine) came to our video from the protectmarriage.com link. However, he is clearly an opponent of both marriage equality and gay breathing. We think that is something that our organized opposition should certainly find disconcerting. Because while they might make all sorts of allegations about how mean and threatening our side can be, it's quite rare that you come across gay activists who threaten to murder their opposition. You just don't.

Your thoughts

Jeremy - it has nearly always been my experience that folks like pparaglider who "doth protest too much" are just like "me" - GAY - but not proud like me. An unfortunate side effect of "our christian brethern's" indoctrination of HATE.

I'm a CHRISTIAN and I'm voting NO on 8.

Why?

Because it seems that all the funding has come from false Christian groups like ROMAN CATHOLICS and "MORMONS" both of whom are idolaters (worshiping Men, Mary, beads, little statues of saints, etc).

IDOLATRY is a worse sin. Voting yes on 8 supports idolatry.

NOTE TO CHRISTIANS!

DO NOT SUPPORT PROP 8.

VOTE NO ON 8.

PROP 8 IS A TRICK BEING USED BY THE MORMON "CHURCH" TO GAIN CREDIBILITY.

THEY ARE NOT CHRISTIANS.

THEY WANT TO TAKE OVER THE NATION.

Oh please, David. Most LGBT people I know are more schooled on the Bible than most evangelicals.

But that's really beside the point -- we are talking about CIVIL marriage. No on 8!
