A GLAAD groom

by Jeremy Hooper

02Romine-190We want to say a quick congrats to our pal Damon Romine, the Entertainment Media Director of GLAAD. In Palm Springs over the weekend, Damon (on left) got hitched to his partner Charles Robbins:

Oh, but the marriage equality fun doesn't stop there. Damon's father David also got hitched at the double ceremony, making an honest man of his partner of 16 years, Larry A. Barrett. Once again proving our theory that "Romine" has a Latin root meaning, "this way aunt Bertha will only have to book one flight."

Wanna give both father and son a wedding gift? We're going to go out on a limb and say that the Romine boys would like nothing more than for anyone eligible to do so to VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 8! Peaceful acceptance of benign non-controversy is a gift that fits everyone's decor.

Your thoughts

Congratulations to both couples! Very interesting story. Don't know their original plans...but with the horrible campaign for NO ON H8 that way run, many have advanced their wedding plans, as it was reiterated last week that marriages performed between June and tomorrow would (probably) be left standing...as these people could have made life changes decisions based on their marital status.
One wedding that got hurried was also reported in the NYT Max Mutchnik and Erik Hyman...a wonderful story that included the naming day of their infant daughters!

I know, I for one, kept writing to EQCA to 'just tell the stories' don't get hooked up in trying to fight lies...well now that's been the focus for all of the last 3 DAYS before the vote. We'll see tomorrow.
