Mormon's Prop 8 closet: Meet some new skeletons

by Jeremy Hooper

Surprise, surprise:

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Mormon church officials say they spent $190,000 more supporting the Proposition 8 gay marriage ban than they previously reported.
...
The report filed Friday with the secretary of state lists church leaders' travel expenses; $20,575 to use facilities and equipment at the church's Salt Lake City headquarters; and $96,849 to pay employees who worked for the ban.

.....Here is beginning. read more for dismal facts (unless they were also all invested with Madoff!).
Social networkers searching Facebook may not find “Elsa Prince Broekhuizen,” but Prince Broekhuizen is part of an influential network, a friends-and-family association of wealthy, powerful people allied to push anti-gay initiatives in a number of states and at the national level.

Status updates for Prince Broekhuizen might read, “Invested in anti-gay initiatives, and won.”

And her social network of friends and associates would include Howard Ahmanson Jr., John Templeton Jr., Maggie Gallagher, Richard DeVos, James and Shirley Dobson, Phyllis Schlafly, Donald Wildmon, Gary Bauer and Tony Perkins.

Sadly even though this much poo has hit the fan they're still trying to pretend they're squeaky clean. "$190K isn't a *substantial amount*. We have brazillions of dollars so that's just a drop in the bucket to us. You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread man!"

I've had it up to here with religious groups and bigots who get away with murder.
