Video: Bustin' Bans Back

by Jeremy Hooper

Gay man of the hour Dustin Lance Black talked to Logo/ CBS News/ 365Gay/ someone at the Viacom mothership, expounding on the themes he put forth in his Oscars acceptance speech. Have a look:

You heard him: LGBT people, you need to come out of the closet the very second that it's safe for you to do so. But also, you hetero allies need to come out of your own closets and take a stand for the fellow human beings who are being so shamefully wronged. United we stand, divided we are banned.

Or, alternately: Change California law so that all future ballot initiatives are decide on by The Academy.

Golden words: Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black [365]

Your thoughts

I'm here but Dustin isn't. They put him back in the closet and shut the door.
The OSCARS committee took the video of his acceptance off the air, by the time I
saw it over 200,000 had. Now ZERO will ever see it again.

There is this little bootleg up.

I would email Rachel M. but the emails she sputters out over the

The Oscars committee has been doing that for years. It was silly when we were on video tape, and it's just not feasible in the internet age or whatever we're calling it.

And by the way, kickyoutube.com. Just sayin'.

Oh, I understand it was their right to pull it. I understand copyright law as well as the next person, What I am saying is that someone on, or associated with, the committee should be sympathetic enough to reccognized that producing, publishing and posting an authorized copy might be good even in just the business sense. Possibly including Sean Penn's speech..they could make it a little ad for MILK , I don't care, just so its up on youtube where it is accessible to the public.
