Equality's southern descent meets Western impasse

by Jeremy Hooper

Wv-1This positive development from the Mountain State:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The possibility of a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in West Virginia is over for this legislative session.

On Monday, Republicans in the House of Delegates tried to advance a bipartisan resolution that would define marriage in the state constitution, but the Democratic majority blocked their attempts.

So for now, WVA's legacy doesn't have a segment in the planned 2020 documentary, Early 21st Century Bias: How So Many Otherwise Good People Enacted So Much Constitutional Wrong. Which is good, because that film's gonna be waaaaay too long already.

Your thoughts

If it's a "bipartisan resolution" how does it get blocked by the majority? What, did one Dixicrat sign on?
