Today is a huge day for marriage equality in California. But as we undergo the principled push to get our West Coast rights restored, let's not forget other states' equally righteous fights to obtain the rights of which gay couples have been denied for far too long. States like New York, where the legislature is close-but-not-fully-convinced to step up and do the right thing.

The Albany-based feet-dragging makes it imperative that we in the NY area SHOW UP and represent. We have to force our could-be supporters to confront the convenient talking points that have been used against us by letting them see the real living, breathing human beings to whom they are denying fairness.
