'You spin it right wing Maggie, right wing (like a record, Maggie) rght wing, right wing'

6A00D8341C503453Ef01156F253901970C.Jpg-1Mmm Hmm:

Because Carrie honestly said what she believed in answer to a question--marriage is the union of a man and a woman-- she is now the subject of ongoing character assassination. The level of hatred directed at her is astonishing. Even more astonishing is her personal courage and strength of character in the midst of these attacks. Of course Carrie is not perfect. On a personal note, as a former unwed mother, I want to say to Americans: you don’t have to be a perfect person to have the right to stand up for marriage. Nothing gay marriage advocates can do can change the fact—we all saw it on national TV—that Carrie is a young woman who surrendered all the glitter Hollywood has to offer, because she would not become the kind of person afraid to say the truth.

"Through Carrie, we are also learning, the lengths some people will go to hurt and harass those who speak up for marriage.
NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MARRIAGE CONDEMNS PERSONAL ATTACKS ON CARRIE PREJEAN [NOM]

Yes, poor Carrie who hired an evangelical PR powerhouse to promote her views is really under "attack" from all those mean gays (that she is campaigning against). Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, Mags.

And we guess you'll next tell us that her breasts were under attack from her bra, thus necessitating an immediate removal?

Your thoughts

Sorry Maggie but you can't sidestep this one. Carrie played the game and now the game is playing her. She has no moral authority to speak against same sex marriage because of her personal Christian beliefs when she can't even adhere to those beliefs herself.

Don't you actually have to have "character" before it can be assassinated? Now we find out the poor innocent Carrie has posed for some topless pictures, which it appears, doesn't at all seem to go counter to her "Christian" ideals. I guess Maggie's idea of "character" and mine are extremely different.

"that Carrie is a young woman who surrendered all the glitter Hollywood has to offer, because she would not become the kind of person afraid to say the truth."

How can you surrender something you never had in the first place? She was NEVER the winner of the pageant. She surrendered nothing. Donald Trump has come out and said that they reviewed the judges scores and she wouldn't have won, no matter what her answer was. It certainly would be nice if ole Maggie would say "the truth" every once in a while, instead of the spew that usually comes out of her mouth.

This one is playing out perfectly. I thought Perez had kinda fucked it up for everyone, but he seems to be fading out a bit and people are really taking Carrie's "opinion" for what it's worth.

I am all for everyone having the right to their opinion. Things I am NOT for include having an uneducated opinion, such that Carrie VERY OBVIOUSLY HAS. After seeing her on one of the talk shows saying she "doesn't know enough about that" in regards to gay adoption and civil unions, it is very clear her "opinion" about gay marriage is simply one that's been repeated by Bible thumping conservatives that she happened to catch. It's like when a bird repeats the only thing they can truly make out their owner saying.

As for the pics, hey, congrats to her because she's got a great body and a beautiful face, I'm not going to deny it. But karma and hypocricy are bitches. Last time I checked vanity/pride were mortal sins and women's sexuality were also a big no no in the Good Book. I guess, like the rest of the cherry picking Bible thumpers, she only picks the parts that won't put a damper on her life. She's not gay, therefore hating gays via the Bible does not harm her.

As for Maggie poo, let he who hath no sin cast the first stone. I wonder if Maggie would be so quick to speak the "truth" if Christians attacked her status as a single mother, or her decision to have sex out of wedlock. Because the Bible says that's a sin too.

I would love more than anything for a gay person to create a site (albeit a mock one) regarding the "truth" about heterosexual sex out of wedlock and what the Bible has to say about it, and make Maggie the poster child. Because, as Maggie says, you don't have to be perfect to speak the "truth" right? Therefore, one sin (homosexuality) is as great as another (promiscuity/fornication). Tit for tat. Give her a taste of her own cruel medicine.

I find it funny that she got to live her life and do what she please without people trying to stop her because "the Bible told them so". Wish she'd take a hint.

I missed the part where she attacked anyone. "her own cruel medicine" I need to see that part of the interview, it must have shown only on homosexual channels, though I didn't see it.

Anyone else wondering if maybe the reason Maggie is defending Carrie's topless pics is because there are some old Polaroids of Maggie's laying around in a drawer somewhere?

That would be the best place for them.

omg! -- the Christians were the ones who made such a monumental fuss through their news outlets, websites and the legal system about Janet's wardrobe indiscretion, and now they're defending Prejean?? How many times does the Hypocrisy Hammer have to whack them before they get it?
