Billing the equality fight

Bill-ClintonIt's funny how a change in political climate leads all these prominent Democrats to start trending in our direction:

SNIP: After speaking at the Campus Progress National Conference in Washington, DC, on July 8, [former president Bill Clinton] was asked if he supported same-sex marriage. Clinton, in a departure from past statements, replied in the affirmative.
...
Asked if he would commit his support for same-sex marriage, Clinton responded, "I'm basically in support."

This spring, same-sex marriage was legalized in Iowa, Vermont, Connecticut, Maine and New Hampshire. In his most recent remarks on the subject, Clinton said, "I think all these states that do it should do it." The former president, however, added that he does not believe that same-sex marriage is "a federal question."

Asked if he personally supported same-sex marriage, Clinton replied, "Yeah." "I personally support people doing what they want to do," Clinton said. "I think it's wrong for someone to stop someone else from doing that [same-sex marriage]."

If only he had signed DOMA in disappearing ink. Alas.

Your thoughts

I hate how these Democrat politicians only start to openly support our rights once they are no longer in power.

If Clinton believes that marriage is not a federal issue then why did he sign the Discriminatory Offensive Marriage Attack? Was Lewinsky blowing him while he signed that unconstitutional bill.

Now the new Heterosupremacist in Chief Obama administration blocked the Supreme Court from hearing the case before it on DOMA. Just like Clinton, he panders to supporters too, like the ones who voted for Prop Hate.

PS: Yea, I really want to hear his full remarks on this. So far haven't had any luck.
