Hey Mainers: Do you think your gay neighbors are 'evil?

by Jeremy Hooper

As Maine advocates near their goal of collecting enough signatures to put the state's already-granted marriage equality before a majority vote, the local anti-gays are getting truly bold in their words and actions. Take this new press release from longtime Maine 'mo foe Mike Heath:

The [Maine Family Policy Council] calls on the people of Maine to be mindful of the fact that the idea of same sex marriage is promoted by a vocal minority which seeks to impose a view of human sexuality which is contrary to reason, and is profoundly harmful both to individuals and to society. The homosexual rights lobby seeks to implement this view of sexuality throughout every part of society, from every kindergarten and elementary school, to every carpenter shop, factory, and law office.

If the people of Maine do not make a concerted effort to resist the imposition of this profoundly immoral and evil doctrine, a perverted notion of human sexuality will be enforced through civil lawsuits; and if homosexual activists have their way, through fines and/or imprisonment. Thus, the debate over same sex marriage is not merely a matter of sexual morality and ethics, it is a matter of freedom of conscience.

Profoundly immoral and evil? Contrary to reason? Profoundly harmful? Sheesh, just imagine how they talk about us when we're not listening!!

But if they want to play this round with their nice, loving, "pro-family" masks off, then we say game on. It'll be far easier to cut through the "protect families" spin if they lay their "gays are evil" cards right out on the table!

**RELATED: If you're on Facebook, head over to the increasingly hostile "Stand 4 Marriage Maine" page. Temporarily become a "fan" of the page so that you can leave some pro-equality comments on the wall. Just remember to "de-fan" yourself before you leave -- we don't want to up their numbers.

Your thoughts

"if homosexual activists have their way, through fines and/or imprisonment"

Anyone got an estimate of the number of times the bible condemns lying VS condemning homosexuality?

Damn! My plan to corrupt innocent carpenter shops has been exposed! How did the ever find out?

Holy Crap! I just visited the Facebook page. I couldn't believe what some of those people were saying. Well, yes, I guess I can believe.

Especially Julia Ann Greenan Tucker. I need to stop here before my anger causes me to say nasty things.

I went to the link And Julia was the ONLY person saying bigoted stuff. The whole page I saw was basically:

Person A: So how can you call yourself marriage protectors when your trying to destroy it?
Julia: The homofaggotnazis are gonna rape your children and burn your church!
PPerson B: *explains why she's full of crap*

And then repeat with Julia ignoring B and yelling more talking points from hate groups at the next poster.

"I went to the link And Julia was the ONLY person saying bigoted stuff."

Last night there were several others. We've sorta taken over the page now.

We've sorta taken over the page now. And the people of Maine are going to be taking back their state too - nice that homosexuals only want one view expressed and want to silent and label people - who are the HATERS? Your hate is just flying under the Rainbow FLAG!

Posted by: Hodes | Aug 15, 2009 12:53:59 PM

That's pretty hysterical for you to say, Hodes, considering how the Stand For MArriage Maine F'book page has been deleting pro-fairness comments as soon as we can post them.

Call us haters al you want if it makes you feel better. It certainly doesn't hurt us.
