Nods for Bobby

Picture 1-284
Congrats to the terrific Lifetime TV movie Prayers For Bobby and its lead actress Sigourney Weaver. Both were just nominated for Emmy Awards.

If you haven't seen it, you should. But if you're the non-accepting parent of a gay kid: you MUST!

Your thoughts

I cried HARD when I saw this movie. I'm very happy to hear about the Emmy nominations.

This one was indeed a tear-jerker. The book isn't bad either. Perhaps Laurie Higgins should give this one a look-see...

Unfortunately it appears to be the ONLY nomination it got, and she's up againts some pretty strong contenders. I suspect if this had been a network TV movie instead of a made-for-cable one, her chances for winning would be stronger.

It got 2 nods, Bill. One for the film and one for Weaver.

But yea, stiff competition.
