'Sex' in the CT

by Jeremy Hooper

SATC-Stanford-AnthothyRumor has it that in the next Sex and the City film, gay characters Stanford Blatch and Anthony Marantino (seen kissing in the last SATC flick) might do as many of us NYC 'mos have done in the past year: Cross the state line and get hitched in Connecticut:

Life & Style is reporting that the shooting schedule calls for a wedding scene to take place at a Connecticut Inn, and the guest list includes Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda, plus Carrie's pal Stanford Blatch and his mother and father.

“All signs point to a gay union between Stanford and Anthony Marentino, who’s required to wear a black tuxedo in the scene,” according to the magazine. “Slated as the entertainment: Liza Minnelli.”

Here come the grooms in ‘Sex and the City’ [MSNBC]

Wow, Liza. Creative casting. What, will there are also be jokes about pink tuxedos and which man is the bride and which is the groom?

Okay, okay -- we'll stave off our stereotype-centric cynicism until we actually see the scene play out. But warning to producers: If we see a preview with an invite that says, "in lieu of gifts, please bring your fabulousness," we might just gag.
