Yes on 1's Web ad FAIL!

by Jeremy Hooper

You may have seen these ads, which Stand For Marriage Maine is using to scare people about the supposed gay agenda in schools:

Gross, right? Yea, well -- you don't know the half of it.

Check this out. We found the stock photo they're using. Look at what the situation that this company suggests this photo be used to represent:

Child With learning Difficulties [iStockPhoto]

Yes, that's right: The title and key suggestion for this image's usage is that it should represent a child who is frustrated because of learning difficulties. This the image that "yes on 1" chose to buy in order to show the supposed pain that we LGBT inflict on America's pupils. Because that's totally moral, right? To take a problem like learning difficulties, something that we should all be working together to combat in schools, and to exploit it for the purposes of anti-gay politics -- isn't that exactly what Jesus would do if he were an ad man?

Your thoughts

I have no words...

Well, you're assuming, of course, that they did in fact purchase the license for the image.. they did put that "Listen and Donate" button directly above where the watermark is on the downloadable demo image.. just sayin'.

This is so over the top....they might as well cue the music from "Jaws." I simply can't believe that soon, very soon, this sort of bigotry and exploitation will be seen for what it is. Until then, we need to keep working and keep the faith. Also, it IS quite possible that gay marriage will be discussed in schools. If a child in a class has two fathers or mothers, is that child supposed to shut up about it? We shouldn't deny this as if this were something wrong!

This is SO telling on how reprehensible these, dare I say it, human beings really are.

How do they look in the mirror.. EVER?

Jeremy, please, please, PLEASE let this be known to the folks in Maine! This kernel of truth must be spread!

It only goes to highlight the depths that they will stoop in order to attempt to force their alleged god given will on others.

The taliban have nothing on these people.

What makes you think they actually paid for the use of the picture?

"The taliban have nothing on these people."

Yes, it does. The difference - the American people (largely christian) are illiterate.

The taliban have nothing on these people.

I hereby nominate the Taliban for the 21st century version of Godwin's Law.
