AZ: Anti-gay shocked -- SHOCKED! -- that cruel discrimination causes negative reactions

by Jeremy Hooper

Point:

"It's one thing to disagree on the issue of same-sex marriage. It's quite a different matter to label those of us -- really the millions not only in California and Arizona, but throughout this country -- who stand for marriage between one man and one woman as 'haters,'"... "Mrs. McCain has effectively called all of us 'haters.' That surprises me. For those of us in Arizona who worked very hard to pass Prop. 102 in 2008, we're offended, we're disappointed and we're outraged."
-Cathy Herrod, Center for Arizona Policy

Counterpoint:

"Your marriage bans raped our souls. So forgive us if we fail to shed a tear for your plight, Ms. Herrod.

What we on the side of equality 'H8' is the cruel game of Moral Monopoly. Take your ego out of this! Unlike you, we're not all that concerned with the personal lives' of its players -- we just wanna be free to D8 and M8 in a land that shouldn't be only 4 Str8s.

Now if you'll excuse us, we need to go meet with our accountant to figure out our taxes. It's weird, somehow America has no problem taking those from us either.

Your thoughts

At least she owned the fact that "outraged" is the description deserving of the most emphasis in her tirade. Admitting that they have an anger problem is the first step... Of course, with all of the codependency going on in the ranks of the rabidly anti-gay, shouting out that they are outraged probably just enrages them more.

My experience living in Phoenix tells me her views really are the norm here.

Just further proof that the real goal of their agenda is to ensure that their bias remains socially acceptable.

Cathy, yes you and the other millions are indeed haters, every last one of you. For literally centuries, you have carried out a vile and relentless campaign of demonization and lies. You create phony "scientific" institutions whose goal is to give your lies a glossy imprimatur and raise their credibility among people who don't know any better. Rest assured, no real scientist is fooled.

Your organizations reflexively and consistently oppose any measures that would increase the quality of life of any queer person, and actively support new measures to reduce that quality of life further. What possible motivation could you have other than sheer, malevolent animus? None that I can see.
