Videos: Like the Olympics, if cross country theocracy were a medaling meddling sport

by Jeremy Hooper

Why did Tony Perkins sign the thoroughly anti-gay Manhattan Declaration? Well, because he wants to battle evil, natch:

We never thought our adult lives would devolve into a game of cops and robbers. Sad that some refuse to let us leave the playground.

**MORE: Harry Jackson, Chuck Colson, NOM founder Robby George, and assorted people of faith who wish to use their personal Christianity against civil policy:

Your thoughts

OMGs!!! I would LOVE to see some professional historians actually denouncing the "Declaration", because many of it's claims that attempt to make the Church look like this pillar of virtue and compassion since its founding are simply untrue!!! And that INFURIATES ME!!!!!!!!!! They are attempting to demonstrably lie to the public, because they know that most people have been generally conditioned to think of Christians, generally, as "good" or "moral" people.

I found it telling in the Spring of '05 Intelligence Report from the Southern Poverty Law Center, that this anti-Gay reaction from the religious right is their way of stating, "We've had enough!", because first it was the women, then the blacks, and now the Gays, and they're demonstrably sick of it! Article available here (keep the light on, kiddies, it's a real ghost story bound to haunt your dreams!): http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2005/spring/holy-war

This year I so totally plan on writing an investigating article refuting many of the claims being made by Mags and crew, and how we Gay people were once greatly revered as powerful shamanic beings! It breaks my heart to think that we have grown up without such a sense of esteem in our culture; that we have forgotten our once powerful pedigree!
