Video: It's a reality TV world, we just travel camera crew-less within it

by Jeremy Hooper

Kathy Griffin Grills Barney Frank [Politico]

Nice that she's working for us. Though personally we're still waiting for The Real House(and Senate)Vote of D.C." Maybe if we can get Kirsten Gillibrand and/or Robert Gates on "Dancing With the Stars," America will get up off their arses and give a damn.

**SEE ALSO: AmericaBlog has been quite critical of "professional lobbyist" Griffin's messaging. John Aravosis' one word commentary on the above video and especially the frank questions about sex with B. Walters: Classy.

HRC's celebrity lobbyist calls Rep. Jim Clyburn, 3rd-ranking Dem in House, a 'big queen'
Dear Kathy Griffin: Please lobby the President on DADT

Your thoughts

John's absolutely right. She's helping absolutely nobody, least of all the LGBT community, by taking her "ha ha fags fawn over me while I call them fags and treat them as sub-humans for money ha ha" shtick on the road.

It's embarrassing and pointless, but I'm sure it'll put butts in the seats at her next live show. That's what this trip to DC is about, after all.

So I guess I was wrong: She's not helping nobody, she's helping herself. At our expense.

This has turned out to be a referendum on just how serious much of the gay community is. The results, in the words of an even bigger gay icon, the Divine Miss M: most clocking in are "vogue on the outside and vague on the inside." On this side: those mourning the stalemate DADT repeal seems to be in. On the other: those still mourning the fact that "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" got cancelled. Paging Corporal Kressley!

The problem? Not getting that Griffin only succeeded in switching the MSM dialogue from DADT to HER; color me jaded for suspecting that was her real motivation despite her self-delusions to the contrary.

Calling the ranking Dem in the House and an LGBT ally a "big queen," asking Barney Frank...on camera, of course...if he's slept with Barbara Walters....now that's REALLY how to get the public engaged in helping overturn DADT. NOT!

Silly me! I just feared she say something, "I don't blame anyone for not wanting to share showers with gay guys. My pocket fags would do ANYBODY!"

But the cameras are still running....
