Video: At least he didn't evoke Jar Jar Binks
This clip, of Bill O'Reilly calling up Ewoks to make some kind of point about transgender human beings, is making the rounds today:
But that Bill O'Reilly once again said something ridiculous is not even the biggest point for us. When it comes to LGBT people, O'Reilly verbal slights, mouth-feet, half-truths, false objectivity, and all-around *facepalm*-inducers have become about as shocking to Bill's show as snarky intellect is to Rachel Maddow's.
The bigger point: That this whole American Eagle "controversy" is completely contrived! The clothing retailer is not AT ALL upset about updating their policies. They do not see this situation as a negative. And in fact, in a company statement that a spokesperson gave this site, they say, quite pointedly, that they were already in the process of updating policies anyway!
But of course it's much "sexier" to make it sound as if AEO is being bound by the strings of their hoodies and board shorts and led to a genderless Sodom. So eh, whatever: May the fallacious force with be with him.
