National Organization for [nosing into everyone's underpants, wombs, and ring fingers]

by Jeremy Hooper

This is a Pride Month ad that Planned Parenthood of St Louis is currently running:

Pp June-Pride-1

Smart marketing if you consider that Planned Parenthood provides insemination services, that lesbian couples sometimes utilize these services, and that St. Louis does in fact contain some lesbians under its Arch. It's all straightforward in a logical sense.

Now cue she who wants the world to be "straight forward" in the literal sense: Maggie Gallagher. Proving that her National Organization For Marriage mission is not confined to that one particular issue, Mags has just posted a snarky rebuke of this print spot, saying:

Insemination Services? Who knew? Lovely photo of two women headlined "They Just Found Out They Were Expecting Finally"

Because nothing causes infertility like attempting to have a child with another woman?
[NOM]

And by asking that last question, she of course means: "Get a puppy instead, Sapphic sisters!" Because let's get real here: The "for Marriage" part of NOM's agenda is merely cover. The goal here is complete and utter stigmatization and shame. Towards our rights. Towards our protections. Against our senses of worth. Against our Families. Against us.

But so nice of Mags to call the photo lovely, even though it could just as easily be captioned: "People Maggie Gallagher has personally hurt, slighted, and offended this year."
