Prop 8 proponents: Their selfish desires know no bounds
This from the SF Chronicle:
As the trial over California's prohibition on same-sex marriage enters its final stage today, the ban's sponsors are urging the judge to go a step further and revoke state recognition of the marriages of 18,000 gay and lesbian couples who wed before voters passed Proposition 8.

Just think about that for a second. You're married two years. Feeling lucky, albeit guilty, that you were able to secure your love and your family in the window of time that state law allowed you to do so. And since your union has already met earlier legal test, you're feeling pretty secure as you head into your second anniversary. Ready and willing to fight for others, as well as for your own federal rights. But not ever thinking that your own state-level union could be invalidated.
And then BANG! Self-appointed moral authoritarians step in and say, "Ya know, we think we'll be taking this now." Even though these 18k unions have hurt NO ONE, those who think there's some secret page of the Constitution buried away somewhere that grants them the power to dictate everyone else's life have decided that they simply cannot live another day unless they are granted the power to legally divorce thousands of their neighbors. They won't be happy until they reach into every last American bedroom and rearrange the genitalia so that the appointing matches their own personally-convicted design concept.
It blows both the mind and the digestive system.
