Video: Give kids loving homes, says org. that keeps kids from loving homes

by Jeremy Hooper

Focus on the Family dedicates much time to keeping same-sex couples away from adoption, foster care, and a whole host of protections that strengthen LGBT families. And of course they work every day to deny a fair shake to gay kids and/or the kids of gay parents. But never mind all that -- this month, the organization's youth outreach arm is ever so incongruously encouraging millennials to look past the FOtF mothership's own fight against a tangible way that more children could be placed in more loving homes (and protected once there), and instead talk only about the kind of "strong family environment" that's defined by evangelism and heterosexuality:

So once again, we have these "Rising Voice" kittens going after a noble cause, but doing so on behalf of an organization that holds irreconcilably ignoble contempt for the fair and equal treatment of a sizable portion of this great nation. This is an organization that is not simply against certain people, but is actually an aggressive opponent of benign LGBT normalcy. An organization that fights us at every turn. An organization that's extremely out of touch with the generation for which and to which these two are purporting to speak.

Sorry, Esther and Thomas, but there's an elephant in your video that's way too big and gay-specific for us to just ignore.
