We the papal: NOM's 'unique reasoning' is Holy, See?
Maggie Gallagher is Catholic. Brian Brown is Catholic. Founder Robert George is Catholic. Almost all of their relied-upon allies, from Bishops to minor players who do HTML work, are devoted Catholics.
In short: The National Organization for Marriage is essentially a Catholic group whose detestation for same-sex marriage comes from canonical rather than civil law. Even their own general counsel, Charles Limandri, admitted as much (see last video clip). So it's no wonder that this predominantly Catholic group (Limandri's phrase) is now directing followers to a new "pro-marriage" website that's designed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops:
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Ad Hoc Committee for the Defense of Marriage has released a powerful new initiative entitled Marriage: Unique for a Reason.
This new initiative combines a powerful 12-minute video, viewer's guide, and a resource guide for priests, deacons and teachers. Our thanks to Archbishop Kurtz and each of the members of the committee, as well as Father Bransfield for their leadership on this important new initiative, communicating the importance of marriage to Catholics and non-Catholics alike.

You know what else is "unique for a reason"? FAITH! Here in America, we have the freedom to choose our theological views and to not have our civil laws affected by the same! The one and only way to stop this "culture war" is for groups like NOM to stop using their personally-held faith views to stop this nation's march towards fair and equal peace!
