NOM's official Facebook moderator vs 'homos adopting children'

by Jeremy Hooper

More "protect marriage" love from NOM's official Facebook page, as backed by one of that site's official moderators:

Defend DOMA? Sounds like we need to defend basic gay existences. From NOM.

**BTW: I've had an exchange with someone who tries to justify these comments by saying they are from an old moderator, not the current one. THAT. DOES. NOT. MATTER. The point is that (A) NOM chose to adopt this page as their own, then (B) Either directly or indirectly chose the site's moderators. When an org. chooses people to moderate a site, with official ID and iconography attached, that person or persons represents the voice of the org. That is the role.

So right now, for anyone who stumbles on this still active thread about "homos adopting children" (where a posting was made on Monday of this week), there is a person, IDed with NOM graphics and title, posting about their opposition to gay-headed families. That is what matters!

When NOM acquired this Facebook page, many of us were shocked, because we knew how incendiary that page got. But NOM purchased it seemingly *because* of its content, not despite. It is not theirs, in full.
