Nu uh, NY anti-gays: Don't indict a deity for your organizational missteps!

by Jeremy Hooper

Staffers at New York state's chief anti-marriage-equality lobby group, which works under the dual names New Yorker's Family Research Foundation and Screen Shot 2011-04-25 At 5.01.12 PmNew Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, have pretty high impressions of themselves. In fact, they think that when we push back against their attempts to deny basic civil rights in ways that go against the wishes of New Yorkers (according to most every credible poll), they can just go ahead and project that criticism towards the heavens:

At NYCF, we have pretty thick skins. After awhile the mocking and ridicule from the other side begins to slide off like water off a duck’s back. We have learned that when people mock those who promote God’s design, they are ultimately mocking God.
Mocking God's Design Mocks God [NYCF]

Well that's one way to shirk responsibility for real world discrimination. We actually prefer just not discriminating in the first place. But hey -- different strokes, different folks.

*REMINDER: This is the same crew that is now using a crosshair graphic to describe what we gay folk are supposedly doing to marriage.
