NY: Wedding planning, from party that crashed last bash

by Jeremy Hooper

Screen Shot 2011-04-21 At 2.50.55 PmSince a unanimous band of Senate Republicans (and eight Democrats) are the ones who defeated New York's marriage bill in '09, it makes sense that the LGBT Log Cabin Republicans would join the fight to push for a better band of right-minded votes here in '11. This from Capital Tonight:

“Marriage is not a progressive or conservative issue. It’s an issue of equal rights for taxpaying citizens of this state,” said Gregory T. Angelo, Chairman of the Log Cabin Republicans of New York State. “For the first time, we are truly united in our fight to ensure every single New Yorker has the right to marry the person he or she loves.”

The coalition has already identified Sens. Jim Alesi of Monroe County, Greg Ball of the Hudson Valley and Roy McDonald as possible yes votes.

Log Cabin Republicans: Count Us In [Capital Tonight]

No word on what, specifically, the gay conservatives will do to court (R) votes this time around. Though we're heading into spring/summer: Threatening to buy up all of the seersucker might work.
