Just in time for Lent, RI Catholic leaders give up all pretense of church/state separation

Ah, Spring. A time when dormant flowers come back in bloom. When garments begin their yearly migration from wool to linen. When both Cadbury eggs and Girl Scout cookies threaten America's waist lines. A time to stop and smell the [:achoo:]

Though for others, like the Rhode Island Catholic Conference, spring 2011 is a time to use personal faith as a weapon against certain tax-paying citizens' civil rights. In fact, they'll be doing this tonight in the town of Woonsocket:

"Why Marriage Matters Tour" [Rhode Island Catholic Conference]

Guess we should be flattered, really. Because a whole tour to tell people why, exactly, our marriages don't matter? Why it's just more proof that people must be coached into seeing us as a threat, since the instinct is to see us as the benign lovers that we truly are.
