The documents the Minnesota Family Council doesn't want you to see

by Jeremy Hooper

So you remember our post wherein we laid bear the incendiary, Paul Cameron-citing work of the Minnesota Family Policy Council? The documents where they likened gays to bestiality and pedophilia, encouraged "ex-gay" therapy, and even wrote that "accepting homosexuals as normal victimizes homosexuals themselves"? The documents that show, without a shadow of a doubt, that their fight in the state goes well beyond marriage itself?

Yeah, well -- in the days since the MN legislature passed the discriminatory constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages (to go before voters in 2012), the MFC's profile has been raised. Their strong connections to more "mainstream" groups like the National Organization For Marriage...

...and the Family Research Council...

...have become ever more apparent. So as is typical with our opposition whenever light is shined upon their truths -- the truth that they themselves chose to put out there -- the Minnesota Family Council has gone off and scrubbed their site of everything that we showed you!! Go see for yourself. If you click on any of these three documents, you will now get a 404 error page:

Document 1: Informed Answers to Gay Rights Arguments [MFC]
Document 2: Guide to the Issues: Gay Rights [MFC]
Document 3: Guide to the Issues: Domestic Partners/Civil Unions [MFC]

And the same goes for the collection of nine "ex-gay" groups that MFC was pushing under its "Homosexuality Resources" section:

Homosexuality Resources [MFC]

All gone, as if they never existed.

Only problem for the MFC: This isn't our first time at the rodeo. We know our opposition has an undying war against transparency and truth. That's why we save backup copies of just about everything. It's why we saved backup copies of MFC's very telling (and even more telling, now that they yanked them) pieces of work:

Spread them widely, my little pets! We have 17+ months to win a campaign.

**UPDATE2: In a truly outrageous turn of events, MFC's longtime president,Tom Pritchard, says we should all just focus on the marriage battle and not these underlying beliefs: Minnesota Family Council president: Focus only on our current vehicle, not the sustaining gas [G-A-Y]
