'Not an anti-gay rally,' says man who claims gays have a 'death style'

by Jeremy Hooper

Once Westboro Baptist showed up across the street to protest the exact same cause and person (marriage and Cuomo), and then others started showing up within the National Organization For Marriage's own crowd carrying signs about homosexuality being worse than murder, you could see the "Ruh Roh" looks hit organizers face. None of those concerned visages were more prominent than Bishop Joseph Mattera, who took to his megaphone to repeatedly deny that the march was at all anti-gay, even going so far as to say that anti-gay signs would not be tolerated at the event (while anti-gay signs were being fully tolerated at the vent). Mattera repeated this same claim at the post-march rally:

Right, so I've already shown you several photos from the day. Judge the intent for yourself.

But now I want to instead show you Mattera's own record. Because from laughing at a seventeen-year-old boy that he finds too "effeminate" to repeatedly that saying same-sex marriage is a lie of the Devil, Mr. Mattera (who organized his own ant-equality rally on 6/13) gives us all much reason to question his animus-denying authority. Here's a roundup, most with video or audio:

It's a funny thing, "anti-gay": One's own record tends to speak much more loudly than his or her denials, even if the fullness of the former most always ratchets up the latter.
