Like Gaga, NOM's ♪still in love with Judas, baby♪

by Jeremy Hooper

Did you know that the National Organization For Marriage, on its official Facebook wall, is comparing Michael Bloomberg to Judas, simply because NYC's mayor has donated funds to pro-equality Republicans? It's totally true:

Says blogger Kyle Luebke:

All Christians should be outraged that NOM would even insinuate that the donations of $10,300 to these Republicans by Mayor Bloomberg is on equal footing with the betrayal of Christ. To do so not only cheapens one of the most heinous betrayals of history, but also insinuates that allowing individuals freedom is on par with sending someone to guaranteed death.
NOM Compares New York Equality Votes To Judas' Betrayal of Christ [An Enduring Vision]

Outraged, perhaps. Though Christians shouldn't be surprised. After all, NOM's very first public action as an organization -- their very first -- was launching a jaw-droppingly hostile billboard on which they compared a Massachusetts state lawmaker to both Judas Iscariot and Benedict Arnold:

2007:

And this earlier one wasn't a mere Facebook post: It was a A BILLBOARD, crafted simply because the legislator voted against putting the state's marriage equality before a public vote. A billboard with which Mr. Puppollo's friends, neighbors, loved ones, and any one else who drove under it were suddenly confronted. A billboard fully bankrolled by NOM's startup donor rolls.

A militant organization, start to inevitable end.
