NOM Document dump: Anything to see here?

by Jeremy Hooper

Nomexposed-1

So last night, while poking around the public records hosted on the West Virginia Secretary State's website (because who doesn't do that on a Thursday evening?), I came across a large collection of documents, uploaded between December of 2010 and April of this year, all involving the National Organization For Marriage, its "Educational Fund" (i.e. The Ruth Institute), and its contracts with outside vendors (most notably the very conservative American Philanthopic). Not sure what's all there, but I am seeing some new names, connections, and information that I felt was pertinent to keep on file as we continue to expose NOM.

One potentially interesting line to follow: Some of these documents are identical to paperwork filed by Virginia Thomas (wife of SCOTUS justice Clarence Thomas), with the very same team -- accountant Neil Corkery, CPA Thomas Conlon, etc - in place at both NOM and Thomas Liberty central group. Potentially interesting, as this shows how deep and strong the ties between NOM and the larger conservative movement. Maybe even Koch money? Interesting pontificating on that very subject can be found here.

See what else you find interesting:
