Sprigg likens SSM to pedophilia, incest; ironically, makes me see him as childish, say 'Oh brother!'

by Jeremy Hooper

Peter "I'd prefer to export or criminalize homosexuals" Sprigg is once again knocking marriage for loving same-sex couples by using fear cards like pedophilia and incest. Ya know, just to throw it out there:

No one has a right to marry a toaster, either, Peter. And that restriction, based on the perceived lack of merit surrounding one's right to pop a question and then Pop a Tart, has just as much pertinence to the current conversation about same-sex marriage (or adult, non-blood, two-people heterosexual marriages, for that matter) as any of the things you mentioned.

Civil marriage's gender restriction is wrong, was always wrong, and will someday be seen as wrong by the vast majority of citizens. Peter can pretend that he didn't learn his Sesame Street "one of these things is not like the other" lessons all he wants. I'll stick with Grover. Oh, and this nation's founding principles/documents.
