Poll: Most Iowans not eager to steal neighbors' civil rights

by Jeremy Hooper

Promising numbers out of Iowa:

A majority of Iowans oppose passage of a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, a new Des Moines Screen Shot 2012-02-27 At 4.48.26 PmRegister Iowa Poll shows.

The poll found that 38 percent favor a legislative initiative to pass a constitutional amendment, while 56 percent are against. Six percent aren’t sure.

These numbers have shifted two points in our favor since a DM Register poll from a year ago. But for some silly reason, our opponents still throw money at elections rather than at commissioning time machines.
