CWA's Legal Counsel: Gays are 'winning over the culture'
A refreshing admission from Concerned Women For America's resident Concerned Man, Mario Diaz, Esq.:
"The fact of the matter is that this is a cultural and political issue and, as we discussed, homosexuals are slowly winning over the culture. Let them continue that work and change the laws if they are able to convince their fellow citizens. We will make that case as to why God's model for marriage is best." [CWA]
Go right ahead, Mario. Nobody's stopping you from pushing your religious opinions about marriage in any way you see fit. What we are demanding is that you respect that civil marriage law is an independent notion that will not bend to those opinions simply because you on the "protect marriage" side want them to.
On that last point (i.e. the point of this whole marriage equality fight), we are quite obvious winning. I know it. You know. Now it seems that even our most ardent political opponents are starting to admit it too. That's pretty damn great.
