NOM to supporters: Dump Starbucks is now a global failure
In an e-blast sent out yesterday, NOM brags about how its taken its Starbucks boycott international:
Only problem for NOM? In the one month span since the boycott began, that campaign has still failed to get the number of petition signatures that the "Thank Starbucks" effort got in 48 hours:
(**"Thank Starbucks" got 40k in 48 hours; had 95+k just a day later)
And the Starbucks stock? It has closed considerably higher every single day since the NOM boycott began. As I write this, the stock is +7.88% where it was on Dump Starbucks' first day.
Translation: By talking about how many countries it's now in, NOM is doing more damage to what is already a terrible blow to the organization. When the campaign went international, I fully expected them, based only on the intensely increased pool of potentials, to explode their numbers immediately. But no. The NOM support is stagnant, because this campaign is misplaced and purposeless, going after a beloved company for an abjectly discriminatory reason. America has rejected it—Now Earth is doing the same.
