Video: Citizens celebrate dwindling ability to use majority tyranny to subjugate civil rights
- At 1:45, Tami Fitzgerald denies that there was anti-gay intent behind the North Carolina campaign. This is the same Tami Fitzgerald who has said "If we truly love our brothers and sisters, we will be seeking their highest and greatest good and what is best for them, and we know that when God's word says homosexuality is an abomination that means it's not the greatest and highest good of our brothers and sisters, so we're seeking their best interest."
- At several point in the clip, Grassroots Director Leonard Goenaga talks about the vote through a primarily political lens. This is the same Leonard Goenaga who wrote a graduate paper that advocated for "ex-gay" therapy.
- Around 2:30, Mark Creech bemoans the folks who came out against the amendment. The same Mark Creech who has come out against gays by saying he believes "homosexuality is 'impure,' 'dirty,' and 'disgusting'"; has claimed the "real cause of homosexual desire or activity is the idolatrous instincts of the human heart"; and has said this whole thing amounts to "an attempted homosexual gang rape of our culture — the effort to sodomize our society" (Much more here)
- At 3:10, Patrick Wooden talks about the God of the Bible coming through for his side, and also denies that his work was homophobic. The same Patrick Wooden who has said homosexuality is "a wicked, perverse lifestyle that destroys people"; a "death style" that "causes the breakdown of the human body"; and claimed that adult gay men have "to wear a diaper or a butt plug just to be able to contain their bowels” (Much more here)
