'Marriage protectors' to Mainers: Don't give dad a tie—choke equal rights instead!
Even with all the misdirected fundraisers I've seen from the other side over the years, I'm finding this weekend's Father's Day efforts (happening in Washington and especially Maine) particularly distasteful:
Instead of buying a tie your dad might not ever wear, consider a tribute to him by making a donation to Protect Marriage Maine. Your contribution to help us defend marriage can have a positive impact on future generations of Mainers. Any donation we receive by this Sunday designated “In Memory of” or “In Honor of” will be publicly displayed on the Protect Marriage Maine and Christian Civic League websites.
“We will gladly promote the names of our supporters who are willing to go public by honoring their living dads or those who have passed away. I am honoring my dad, Carroll Conley, Sr., with a gift of $500, and my wife is honoring her dad, Pastor Tony Leonard with a $500 tribute. I just got off the phone with Rep. Dale Crafts who is honoring his dad, John, with a $100 contribution,” said Carroll Conley, Jr., Executive Director of the Christian Civic League.
