Southern Baptist Convention becomes more anti-gay, political, extreme, and alienating

by Jeremy Hooper

In an astonishingly mis-purposed turn for a supposedly religious-focused organization, the Southern Baptist Convention has adopted Dwight "we suffer more under same-sex marriage than we would have under segregation" McKissic's wholly political proposal that gay rights are not civil rights:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A day after electing their first African-American president, Southern Baptists passed a resolution opposing the idea that same-sex marriage is a civil rights issue.

And yet the evangelicals will continue to ponder why they are bleeding young people with a complete lack of self-awareness regarding proposals like the one. Forget the Bible for a second—it's the book of "Duh" that they need to consult!
