Video: John Piper's faith won't let him support my marriage; perfect, because I couldn't care less about his blessing

by Jeremy Hooper

Earlier this week, I showed you how the Protect Marriage Washington team is pushing a sermon from John Piper in which the influential preacher declares gays to be "broken and disordered." Now listen in as Mr. Piper explains to legally married people like myself that our *CIVIL* marriages are not real because his personally-chosen faith doesn't think so:

Couldn't support your religious right to oppose me any more than I already do, Mr Piper. But you will not—WILL.NOT.—stand in the way as my and my husband seize our rights as taxpayers under the shared laws of this great nation. And if Protect Marriage Washington, a campaign dependent on detailing why they have a right to trump civil rights, wants to get behind your faith-based quest, Mr. Piper, then it is at that campaign's own political peril.
