Minnesota for Marriage is against parity *and* parody, apparently

by Jeremy Hooper

I've been around a lot of campaigns. Rarely have I seen a candidate or group adjudicate who is or is not worthy of having some of their campaign swag. Campaign literature and campaign signs are promotional materials given out for the purposes of promotion.

But check out this ridicu-tweet from Minnesota For Marriage's Deputy Campaign Manager, Andy Parrish:

"Somehow" got? Is it hard to get one of your signs, Andy? Because if you all are determining who is and is not "fit" to receive one, that would seem to say much more about the campaign you all are running that it would about anyone or anything else.

Then there's the absurd charge of "vandalism." Really? Taking a campaign sign and making you own parodic political statement is now an act of vandalism? REALLY!!??! If that's really the talking point, then I seriously don't want to hear one more peep of a "free speech" charge from the Minnesota For Marriage (so-called) coalition!

What we really have here is more victimization for the team that knows no other way. Liberal, thieving vandals are much easier to demonize than are good and decent people who care about their LGBT neighbors' basic welfare.
