Tonight on OWN: Alan Chambers continues his very public second-guessing

by Jeremy Hooper

Tonight on an updated episode of OWN's Our America with Lisa Ling, Exodus International president Alan Chambers will continue his new crusade of qualifying/rolling back just about everything he has peddled for the past decade or so:

Do I think there are people living a gay Christian life who are going to be in heaven with me?" [Chambers] asks rhetorically. "I do. If they have a relationship with God." He says that Christians should now shift from "change" to "acceptance" because the gay cure doesn't work and gays who believe in God can know God as intimately as any heterosexual person.

Gee, who knew that spending years aggressively pushing a movement that every arm of credible science vocally rejects would ultimately lead to such public conflict and questioning? Other than, you know—everyone who was paying attention to honesty more than their own agendas.
