Video: Life after Westboro Baptist Church

by Jeremy Hooper

When you watch the following video, you'll see a wedding party being silly. Family, friends, lip syncing—the whole deal. It's exactly what a group of young people should be doing during that time in life when the world is yours to have and to hold.

But what you should know is that the light and joyous bride is none other than Westboro Baptist Church defector Libby Phelps, who has long since ditched (and renounced) the "God Hates F*gs" signs of her past and taken control of her future:

(*note: Fellow WBC defector Josh Phelps-Roper is also seen in the clip)

There is birth. There is life. The former doesn't have to predestine the latter.

Congrats, Libby Alvarez!
