There are of course any number of things that Mayor Emanuel left off this, an off-cuff list delivered in response to a reporter's question. Cleaner air. Tourism opportunities. Protecting Chicago from zombie attacks. Lots of stuff, ya see. But in NOM world, this lack of specific mention is turned into yet another opportunity to portray a Democrat as uncaring and unfocused. "See, see—he didn't specifically say he wants to make our streets safer! Clearly he's rather marry gays than eliminate sidewalk gunfire!"

Puh leeze.
